Kapil Sibal to speak at the TimesJobs.com Skills Summit in Delhi

The Hon’ble Union Minister for HRD, Govt. of India – Mr. Kapil Sibal shall inaugurate the 1st Annual TimesJobs.com Skills Summit being held on May 27 2011 in the National Capital.

The summit shall bring together India’s Policy Advocators, Bureaucrats, CEOs, CXOs, Academics and the Media under one roof for intellectual panel discussions, and is the culmination of a number of industry – institutional interfaces, collective termed as TimesJobs.com Skills Dialogue.

Skills Dialogue started its journey to demystify the whys and wherefores of finding the ‘right fit’ in the ‘right’ industry across all segments. This has been one of the major challenges that industries have been tied down with and since globally all economies are on a war footing to create the most skilled workforce, India is a key contender for getting it right!

The ITeS segment was the first target sector and three CXO forums have been held across three major metros between December 2010 and May 2011. The Inaugural session was held in Delhi on 10th Dec, 2010 while the 2nd session had addressed the concerns of the Western region in Mumbai and was held on 18 Feb 2011. The 3rd session was held on 18th March in Hyderabad and now we are gearing up for the Annual Skills Summit on Friday, 27 May 2011.

In his Inaugural address, the Union Minister for HRD will speak on government and sectoral initiatives for skills development and discuss issues related to plans and policies for imparting skill-based training, creating job opportunities for the trained and the skilled workforce.

Prominent industry and institutional stalwarts shall be joining the minister, and discussing a range of skills-related topics including :
