Observing trends of the declining drift of print against the onslaught of the Internet and the consequent shift of advertisers, especially of the classified kind, to the new interactive medium, the Times Group decided to embrace this new medium rather than oppose it.
The objectives of this strategy were to provide audiences and advertisers products and services on the Internet from The Times Group itself, thus reinforcing the position as the country's leading media conglomerate.
A new internet division was formed under R. Sundar. Previously Director Response, Director ToI Brand and later Director Corporate, BCCL, Sundar has funneled his valuable expertise in print classifieds to leverage it into viable online businesses, as the CEO of Times Business Solutions Limited.
